The artists of Ampilatwatja made a conscious decision not to paint ‘altyerr’ dreaming stories. The artists paint their country where those stories sit.
"This is the country we go out to when we go hunting. We see bush medicine too and sometimes we come back and paint the bush medicine. We see everything out in the bush."
Doris paints her country, it helps to keep her country strong for current and future generations of Alyawarr people.
