Estelle Hogan is a senior traditional owner of Spinifex country in the Great Victoria Desert. Estelle was born in the bush at Paltatatjara, a place on the SA side of the Spinifex claim area. Estelle grew up with her immediate family living a traditional Western Desert lifestyle. In this painting Estelle documents her birthplace and surrounding areas. She can name many, many rockholes and Tjukurpa, but refers mainly to the Minyma Tjuta Tjukurpa as it passes through Paltatatjara. Other rockholes in this area are Apupulu, her daughter's birthplace, Torlu, Wipura, Anki, Tjintirkara, Unpun, Mamatu, Kaylka, Waruwarta, Minga and Kulal, her son's birthplace.
